We did the French Eclair and Choux Pastry Class with chef James. It was an amazing experience! The workshop is totally hands-on. We made everything from scratch (choux dough, pastry cream, stuffing and decoration). Chef James is an awesome teacher and gave us lots of tricks to make the perfect eclair at home. If you are looking for something different to do in Paris, this is a place to go. Louvre is good, Eiffel Tower is nice, but taking an eclair workshop in Paris is a must go! Thanks chef James! <3 <3… – show
Thank you. We were delighted to share this moment with you.

My group had a fabulous time learning how to make Croissants and Pain Au Chocolate. The instructor was gracious and knowledgeable. Understand that the process is involved and exacting, and so not suitable for youngsters—so, parents, please select an age-appropriate class instead of trying to convince the instructor that your child is uniquely capable.
Thank you Karen for your kind comment. We are always delighted that our guests enjoy their time with us. Sharing our gourmet secrets with smiling and motivated people is truly a joy.

Besides having our class almost ruined by Jason P barging in aggressively like it was a Colorado high school, we had an amazing time and found it very instructional, would recommend to anyone. Except Jason, who can't read....
Thank you for your kind comment and your support to our Chef Gaelle. After that difficult moment with that aggressive customer, our Chef really appreciated your kindness and enthusiasm.

Amazing croissant class. Run so well by the teacher, even dealt really professionally with some guy called Jason who brough 6 people to a class he'd booked 4 people on to and then got very aggressive when he was told they couldn't all take part. Would recommend to anyone, a must do in Paris.
Thank you for your kind comment and your support to our Chef Gaelle. Confronting people of bad faith is never an easy moment, but fortunately all our other guests came with their beautiful energy and their desire to share a good time.

Great class, learned all of the intricacies of making Croissants and Pain au Chocolat. The teacher was great despite having to deal with an abusive customer throwing a tantrum who turned up late with 2 extra people (including children who this class is not suitable for) when the class is pre booked and has a max capacity of 6 people. Would recommend to anyone is Paris who wants to know more about making delicious pastries.
Thank you for your kind comment and your support to our Chef Gaelle. What a joy for our Chef to share the secrets of making croissants with such kind and willing people. Thank you for making this class so enjoyable.

Absolutely the worst. We had ous 15 and 13 year old with us. They would not let them participate because it was too technical. They said it was on their website, but it isn’t. They essentially stole our money. They are also impossible to reach by phone. Do not go to this place.
The age requirements for the Croissant classes are written on four different pages of our website (you found them easily with your phone in our presence this morning when we discussed the age of your children): they are written in bold in the description of the class, on the booking page of your class, in our terms and conditions, in the FAQ. Moreover, you have booked and paid for 4 people and came with 6 people and asked that all 6 people do the course. The course being already full, it was obviously impossible to respond favourably. Also, the reason we don't accept children under 17 for the croissant class is because this class is difficult, requires real physical strength, and requires the use of large, dangerous knives to handle. We do not want to put the children in danger and we do not want to put them in difficulty either, during a moment which must be a moment of relaxation, sharing and pleasure. Our goal is that everyone leaves with the feeling of having learned and succeeded, which is by experience not possible for young children in a croissant class. We want the children to leave happy and proud of their work, which is why we have other classes that are easier for them. We tried to find a solution that met our conditions and your coming, and we are sorry that you did not accept our proposal and left without further discussion. We understand your frustration, although it is not our fault that you did not take the time to read the descriptions of the croissant course before booking, and that you came with more people than you had booked. But this does not excuse your aggressive attitude towards our Chef, attitude that greatly shocked our other guests. It is a pity, we would have been happy to share a Macaroon or Eclairs class with you and your children, because our goal is that our guests spend a pleasant moment, respecting each individual and in complete safety.… – show

The classes were amazing! Gaëlle is a lovely and passionate teacher. I did the classes for Eclairs, Croissants and Macarons. She patiently explains before you do it yourself. I’d say this is the most efficient way to learn. So you won’t just watch, no you get your hands dirty and take home delicious and lovely pastries. The classes are small (max. 6peeps) and the kitchen is well equipped. Really we’ll done, felt very comfortable. Thank you and success!
Thank you very much for your kind comment. We had a great time sharing all our secrets with you.

We learned to make croissants with Chef Julie. It was loads of fun…and butter I didn't know they could be so easy. Thank you for a fun, educational and yummy morning. Maybe I'll come back for the 5 day course sometime.

We had the best time. My husband and I are not exactly the best bakers but we LOVE croissants and decided it would be fun during our visit to Paris. We were so right. The class is small and the instructor is paitent and very fun. We each made 4 croissants and 4 chocolate and got to keep whatever we didnt finish there with us. While eating together we talked and laughed a lot. We left with the recipes as well. It was such a great experience. Don't hesitate just do it!!

My grandma and I took 3 different classes last week with Patisserie A La Carte; macarons, eclairs and choux pastry, and a mixed French pastry class. I was surprised at how easy it was to follow along for me and my grandma and our instructor Julie was so knowledgeable. The class really inspired me to bake more at home since I now have some tricks that have boosted my confidence with even more advanced items like the macarons. We also got to take a lot of treats with us. Such a good experience in Paris!… – show

Class was great! We made several different pastry type items. Our class had 5 people in it. Julie was a great instructor. Our only complaint is we signed up specifically to learn how to bake crossaints and that wasn't even part of the class.
Hi Joanna, We are really sorry that your wish was to make croissants but you enrolled for the “French Pastry & Dessert Class” and not for the “Croissant & Traditional Breakfast Pastries Class”, which is a different one. We hope next time you'll be able to take the croissant class. But we are happy that you enjoyed your class anyway and we thank you for your nice comments.

Really enjoyed our croissant making class with Julie. She is knowledgeable, explains the process of making the pastry very well and this class is well suited to all levels! Definitely recommend if you want some context behind all the pastries you’ll be consuming in Paris!
